Cabinet and President to correct the Earthquake “Failures”
Chilean Minister of Defense Jaime Ravinet met this week with President Sebastian Piñera to discuss a set of profound changes in Chile’s emergency alert system, which has been questioned following the death and destruction wrought by February 27th’s 8.8-earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
“We are meeting to come up with a modern emergency system, so that our country can still function properly during catastrophes like the one we’ve just been through,” said Ravinet.
