Telecommunication ministry studies ways to improve system security Following the much criticized collapse of mobile phone communication during and after the Feb. 27 earthquake, the Transport and Telecommunication Ministry is looking for a way to avoid this happening again in future. At the same time, there is an ongoing discussion as to who is to be blamed for the signal breakdown. Industry spokesmen say that the mobile phone networks are designed to be used by certain percentage of the population. When this percentage is surpassed, the network gets saturated and is unable to provide connection.
