Chile’s Infrastructure After the Quake: Update on Airports, Roads and Services

Five days after a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake hit Chile, many of the services in the quake-stricken south central regions are just starting to get back to normal, while others are still down.

Disruptions in extremes of the country, however, have been minimal to non-existent. The southern Lakes Region was largely unscathed, while areas further south Puerto Montt to Punta Arenas saw no destruction whatsoever, other than inconveniences associated with poor telephone/Internet service and cancelled airline fights.
