The armies of Chile and Argentina will follow in the footsteps of South American independence leaders A 16-day re-enactment of two of the six routes used by independence patriots in 1817 will see 126 military staff traverse the Andes mountain range on mule and on foot. The first rehearsal of the re-enactment was held this week in the Achupallas mountain range (Region V) at a spot 1684 meters high.
