Those construction workers have their work cut out for them…

Wednesday was a record hot day - 94 degrees Fahrenheit – and the weatherman says higher than normal temperatures are not going away anytime soon.

Meteorologist Jorge Quintana said the El Niño driven heat-wave will last through the end of February, keeping temperatures 3-5 degrees higher than average.

Hotter temperatures and lower precipitation will affect Chile from Valparaiso in Region V to Valdivia in Region XIV. The El Niño phenomenon increases the temperature in the Pacific in Chile’s central region, making it a good time to enjoy the normally frigid waters.
