![]() Although born and raised in Finland, Johanna always felt certain restlessness that could only be stilled by traveling. Her yearning for international encounters has brought her many detours: Spain, Argentina, Austria, England and the United States, among others, until finally settling in Santiago in 2009. Johanna graduated in June 2007 with a BBA in International Business. The past few years before moving to Chile she lived and worked in Western Austria. Once in Santiago, getting desperate as a housewife, she decided to look for a job in the field of her studies, and luckily found the Santiago Times. On her free time, she enjoys the not-so-occasional milk shakes on the balcony, great novels by the pool and pampering the stray dogs of Santiago. As a hopeless romantic, the books, addiction to 'Friends' and silly romantic comedies can sometimes create unrealistic expectations of reality. While she is inspired by the adventures and exotic life in Chile, Johanna is also looking forward to new challenges. She believes that the work at the Santiago Times will be both fun time and a great learning experience. |

![]() This little Finn joined the Santiago Times Marketing Team in June 2010. Kristiina’s fascination with Latin America and the Spanish language has brought her to this continent several times before, both for study and work. It is her second time in Chile, and this time she intends to stay until the wine, palta and torta de tres leches run out. She graduated with an MSc. in Economics and Business Administration from the Helsinki School of Economics in 2008. She’s now looking forward to developing her marketing skills at Santiago Times and hopefully someday be mistaken for a local. The latter might require dropping the extra vowel from her name and perhaps also a visit to the hairdresser. Although a bigger fan of warm weather, in the winter Kristiina is excited to hop on a snowboard and explore the beautiful Chilean Andes. |

While busy making other plans, force majuere (she's gone but not forgotten) took him to Chile in 1987. He launched the Chile Information Project (CHIP) in 1990 as a hobby and a spin-off from a project that began while working at the Catholic Church's Vicaria of Solidarity. After stringing for various international mining and fruit export publications, he now is trying to make his hobby into a business - perfecting The Santiago Times and creating The Valparaiso Times and The Patagonia Times. When he can, he spends time at his farm outside of Puerto Montt - planting blueberries - or his Five-Acres-And-Independence parcela in Caleu, an hour from Santiago. And, of course, he is with his media naranja Maria Loreto and his son Ray, age 12, as much as possible. |
