Chile’s capital sets up ‘neighborhood justice units’ to preempt violence, resolve disputes
A survey conducted by Chile’s Ministry of Justice revealed that 25 percent of households in Santiago were involved in one or more disputes with their neighbors in 2010. Aware that rising tensions could lead to violence, the government has implemented mediation centers to keep the peace.
