Amanda Reynoso-Palley was born in San Francisco, California; she lived in the Bay Area almost all her life until she decided to leave U.C. Berkeley for junior year and study in La Universidad de Chile in Santiago. She fell in love with the city, and once home became obsessed with going back. After stumbling across The Santiago Times, Amanda realized she could have it all, live in Santiago and write about Latin America (her favorite area of study).
