Court says Goldcorp failed to consult local indigenous communities over El Morro mine.
The Chilean Supreme Court on Friday suspended a mining project in the Atacama region after its owners failed to consult the local indigenous groups.
Canadian mining company Goldcorp lost its environmental approval for the El Morro project, a US$3.9 billion gold and copper megaproject in the Huasco Valley, for not seeking input from the Diaguita Agricultural Community of the Huascoaltinos.
