Senate President Camilo Escalona has called upon President Sebastián Piñera to nationalize the country’s water rights in order to recuperate its natural resources.
Escalona, a member of the Socialist Party (PS), also said small farmers whose crops had depleted due to the lack of water should be given more water rights to help sustain their livelihood, according to Radio Bio Bio.
